Dendrobium seranicum 'Brendan'
It seems that all I've been posting recently are Dendrobiums, but in any case, here's another from the island of Seram in the Moluccas, Dendrobium seranicum. The 3 cm flowers come in pairs on the 8cm growths with their narrow channeled leaves. The plant belongs to the Oxyglossum section of the genus, Dendrobium and is one of the species in that section that is not from the island of New Guinea.

Beautiful color! Growth habit looks similar to D. subuliferum but the flowers look like a pink blush version of pentapterum. What cultural range does this require?
ReplyDeleteI grow this with pentapterum, subuliferum, cuthbertsonii and the other cool temp Oxypetalums from New Guinea - grow it mounted on cork and with very high light.
DeleteEven if we can only see part of the plant it looks healthier than any other I have seen. Well done as always.
ReplyDeleteThis does very well for me. The plant is healthy and grows well and flowers regularly.
