Masdevallia strobelii

This is one of my favorite MasdevalliasMasdevallia strobelii is small species from Ecuador in the section Saltatrices, with the typical hair-lined tubular and colorful flowers of that section.  It is intensely fragrant, blooms prolifically, has brightly colored flowers and is easy to grow, everything that could be asked.  Mine is grown in a plastic net pot in live sphagnum and always blooms several times a year.

  1. is this the same as Masdevallia constricta? One Masdevallia I've contemplated owning since its apparent tolerance to intermediate temperatures :) I assume you grow this cool?

    1. This is not the same as M. constricta. That is a somewhat larger plant and has much larger flowers with a more constricted and longer tube. Both prefer the cool end of intermediate and I grow both cool.
