Phalaenopsis violacea var. alba

I do not grow many Phalaenopsis: never have, with the exception of a couple species and one miniature hybrid.  This is one of the two species I am growing at present.  I purchased it as a seedling and it is blooming for the first time with two flower spikes.  I had hoped for slightly better flower form than this, but love the color and the scent.  It grows in moss and on a bathroom windowsill with a couple other Phalaenopsis and some Paphiopedilums.

  1. It is a lovely bloom. All the green edges with white splash in the middle - looks awsome.

    1. Thanks. I'm really happy with the color. It's just the flower form that is a bit less than what I'd hoped for.

    1. Thanks, Antonio. The color is awesome, though I love the ordinary Phal. violacea as well. The scent of the flowers is intoxicating, too, especially on a warm day.

I have almost only Phalaenopsis now, have no good hand for masdevallias or cattleya :(

    1. Thank you for looking and commenting. Don't you love the scent of Phal. bellina? I'd grow more Phalaenopsis as you do, but I am not great hand with them.
